Free Radio event 28th January 2016

FFM studioFromeFM radio are inviting all community groups, charities, clubs and non-profit organisations to an OPEN EVENING at their studios in the Old Fire Station in Christchurch Street West on Thursday 28th January from 6-8pm.

Organiser Dawn Denton said “We will be having live radio shows all evening and this gives you an opportunity to see the studio in action and also get onto the radio waves yourself if you are keen to give it a try.”

FromeFM chairman Maggie Gregory said “We are excited to welcome local organisations into the studio. FromeFM is a community radio and we are keen to work with community groups and charities to let people know about the wonderful work they do and maybe encourage a few more people to volunteer for them”.

“The Frome College Radio club have recently completed a radio training course with FromeFM. They will start the evening off with a live show from 4-6pm and then we will open our doors at 6pm for the open evening.”

Come from 6pm and meet current members of FromeFM and chat about how you and your organisation can get involved, work with your community radio station and also about group membership opportunities.

Live broadcasts will be as follows:

  • 4pm – 6pm: Frome College Radio Club – with live news bulletins, music and fun!
  • 6pm – 7pm: Dave Watkins, who is our star Blues and Roots presenter as well as regular Big brew Breakfast co-host.
  • 7pm – 8pm – Issy Hughes who is FromeFM’s teen sensation and presents ‘The Room’.
  • 8pm – 9pm – Alex Hawkins with honest music on the airwaves in ‘Homely Remedies’.
