FromeFM is running a 4-day course in the summer holidays – an opportunity for 12 – 18 year olds to learn about broadcasting and have hands-on experience of putting together a radio show.

Sessions will take place every morning from Tuesday 12th to Friday 15th August 2014 (9.30 am – 12.30 pm) at FromeFM’s studios at the Old Fire Station on Christchurch Street West. The cost of the course is £60 and will include a FromeFM T-shirt and a CD copy of the programme made during the course.

Participants will learn about and practise many different aspects of radio production including interviewing, microphone technique, sound editing, script-writing, planning and presenting. On the final day you will get the chance to present and broadcast your own programme live on 96.6 FM.

Studio manager Terry Stewart said,

“My son is keen on getting more involved with the radio and we thought it would be a great idea to get a group of young people together and create a show to play out LIVE on Frome FM. This will be a brilliant introduction to working in radio and a chance to develop new skills, have fun and be creative”.

Terry will run the course with other experienced radio presenters (all DB checked for working with children). Places are limited so don’t delay, sign up today.
