FromeFM compere Quin Howerd-Evans led the crowds in a rousing chorus of “We are the champions” as Jenson Button switched on the Christmas Lights in the middle of Frome and treated everyone to spectacular stunts in his F1 car up and down the Market Place and through the Market Yard.

FromeFM presenter Suzi Holland said “We were so close we were covered in bits of rubber and road as he did the donuts…it was amazing”.

And FromeFM saved the day when a road sweeping vehicle severed the cable connecting the PA system in the Market Place with the Market Yard.  We played our live radio commentary through the speakers so the crowds in the Market Yard could hear the countdown and Jenson switching on the lights with the Mayor of Frome and join in with FromeFM compère Quin Howerd-Evans’ impromptu chorus as Frome really were the champions that night.
