Infosound Briefing
Impartial and relevant news and information for vision-impaired people in the UK.
In the UK someone starts to lose their sight every 15 minutes. Whether newly-diagnosed or having lived with sight loss for many years, having information about sources of help, advice and support can enable someone to make the life choices that suit them best; it can increase their independence and can reduce a sense of isolation, often experienced by vision-impaired people in our sight-oriented world.
Infosound produce individual audio articles, produced specifically for vision-impaired people on topics such as finance, leisure and holidays, mobility, products, health, employment, training, consumer issues, travel, hobbies, daily-living advice and support.
Infosound Briefings are broadcast on FromeFM as part of our commitments to support blind and partially sighted residents in the town. Briefings are not available to listen on the FromeFM website but can be downloaded from www.infosound.org.uk
