Radio Trainees Broadcast First Show

A group of enthusiastic young radio trainees are set to make their on-air debut with their first radio broadcast, airing on Saturday 15^th at 9am. This milestone marks the culmination of 12 hours of hands-on training delivered by a team of Frome FM volunteers, during which the trainees honed their skills in studio equipment, planning, hosting, interview techniques and producing community radio content.

The debut 58 minute show in two parts comprises the "Hex Girls" (Ella, Yana and Elle) and "Digital" (Dax, Gabe and Toby) and will feature a vibrant mix of chat and music, highlighting a local band also, inviting listeners to tune in for an hour of fresh, and authentic content.

“We’re thrilled to give our trainees the opportunity to get into the studio and share their voices with the community,” said Tim Hardy, Director and course lead. “It’s incredible to see how much this great bunch of super young people have jelled together and grown during their training, and this show is the first demonstration of their hard work. There is a bit more to learn along the way but they are brimming with ideas for future shows.”
