Farewell to Different Sounds

Ian has presented the Different Sounds since 2016, on which he interviewed literally hundreds of people from the music industry. These include such luminaries as Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Chas Jankel (Ian Dury), Steve Diggle (Buzzcocks), Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets), Shaun Ryder (Happy Mondays) and Francis Rossi (Status Quo).

His interviews with and Jon Lydon (Sex Pistols) and Colin Moulding (XTC) clocked 57 and 204 hours of listens on Mixcloud respectively: by far our most listened to shows. The final Different Sounds show included interviews with veteran DJ Mike Smith and Zippy from Rainbow!

Ian has also presented many breakfast shows and Frome festival specials over the years. We wish him the best with whatever he decides to do in the future.

Ian said that "without Frome FM I wouldn't have had the opportunity to interview 100s of amazing artists. It's quite staggering what I've done and for that i'll always be grateful. "

He went on to say that "I've always believed that the quality of a lot of the FromeFM output is an equal and even surpasses what other stations with more resources produce."
