Frome FM Presents… Ghosts in the Sand (single launch party)

Join us for an evening of live music raising money for Frome FM! 2nd November – 7.30pm @ 23 Bath Street, Frome!

Judas Goat & the Bellwether are a new band on the circuit formed by Frome-based singer/songwriter, Sara Vian and Pete Vincent, a multi-instrumentalist from Yeovil described as Indie-Rock alchemy, transforming leaden woes into sonic gold with melancholic riffs, moody basslines & powerful, nuanced vocals; now fully backed by Scrivo on bass (Trowbridge), Strefan on drums (Bath) and Sash on lead guitar/shrewti (Westbury).

Their first single "There is Always a Dawn" came runner up in The Climates Songwriting Competition 2023 and received rave reviews. They’re now set to release their second single "Ghosts in the Sand" at the beginning of November and are celebrating with a party at 23 Bath Street, Frome.

Proceeds from the ticket sales will be going to Frome FM in return for all the support they give DIY musicians as well as helping the community cheer itself up with the power of music and lots of other fun and useful stuff.

Jacob Harley

Also appearing will be emerging superstar, Jacob Harley, “the real deal with a voice on fire”, who used to front Swindon hit band, Concord Drive. Jacob has been working with Swindon producer, Jon Buckett, on a three EP project called "The Earthworm Sessions", planned to be complete by the end of 2024. Jacob will also be opening for The Afro Celt Sound System at The Exeter Phoenix Theatre on 10th October 2024 and has recently secured a music publishing deal with Strung Out Songs and a recording deal with Long Tale Recordings; as well as already having one of his songs synchronised into an animated feature film (A Greyhound of a Girl)! Long Sun

Long Sun are a Psychedelic Indie Rock mutation of Somerset-based acoustic troubadours, Spidreen, instigated when guitarist, Pete Vincent and bassist “Charlie” Drake decided to swap roles! A select series of gigs during autumn 2023 culminated in a well-received headline performance at Sherborne’s Pack Monday Fair and ever since, they have been refining and intensifying their sound to create a soaring twin guitar attack intertwined with an understated yet powerful rhythm section crowned with John Stafford’s bold vocals.

DJ Jennifer Grooves (Frome FM)

Jennifer Grooves celebrates the Sound of Disco from around the globe! Her show is a joyful exploration of rare grooves that you have yet to discover but will love! Jennifer's show is on from 8-9pm on the 3rd Friday of the month... A great way to start off your weekend! Jennifer is also vocalist and lived in Bristol for 12 years before moving to Frome in 2022 with her partner and two dogs.
