Frome College Radio Club
Presented by Frome College.
With funding from Frome Town Council, and working in association with FromeFM, Sounds of Frome and local community groups, Frome College Radio Club have been given the unique and exciting opportunity to broadcast both live and pre-recorded regular shows on FromeFM. Students meet afterschool to research, plan and edit shows, then attend the FromeFM studios to record or live broadcast their own radio shows.
- A weekly of College news, events, conversation and music, mixed with local interest, issues and interviews, ‘Frome College Matters’ hopes to bring the wealth of talent and creativity within the College to the wider community of Frome and beyond. This includes highly praised revision and lesson podcasts, written by College staff and downloadable from this site, to help students in their studies. Tuesday 4-5pm term time.
- Every 4 weeks the Frome College Radio Club will host the Frome FM Breakfast Show on a Saturday morning broadcasting live between 9am and 12 noon. This is a fast-paced, news, music and chat show aimed at a cross-generational audience, a real test of the broadcasting ability & knowledge the students are learning in the Radio Club.
- Teenage Kicks is a teen magazine show on FromeFM, every 4 weeks on a Saturday evening between 6pm & 7pm. It has an existing team of hosts, but Radio Club students help plan and co-host. It is a mix of music and topics of interest to teenagers and provides a teen perspective on life.
