Presented by John Nelson.
The show that plays the music other people have thrown away.
Join John Nelson and his studio Jurors as they choose the best Junkshop gems from Frome’s local markets, auctions, charity shops, garage sales and the Jurors’ own collections of musical rubbish covering the past 500 years.
This show is a 3-hour cornucopia of music and chat with citizen jurors sharing their opinions on my music junk, as well as sharing their own junkyard jewels. John’s Ohio rooted, rust belt redneck origins tweaked by life moving between Nashville, Timbuktu, Chicago and 20 years in Frome and across the tropical forest belt guide his fabulous musical finds that were previously headed for the garbage can. It turns out the Jurors’ own gems are sometimes better.
Every week we include a Junkshop Journey for the final hour, where we play the really long trash we find; opera, jazz, rock, poetry, soundscapes, just weird little things. There is definitely juice in Frome’s junk.
If you want to join Junkshop Jury live on-air, or provide your own judgements on the trash we play on the show, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. But don’t forget – you will have to share some of your own garbage. No eight tracks.
This show is live on-line at Frome.FM Mondays 8-11 pm GMT, and always available on-demand on this page – see below podcast list.
