Frome Festival 2012
A selection of recordings from the 2012 Frome Festival.
Please note that most of the recordings were made live in workshops, at events or in the street and are therefore not always studio quality.
Sun July 15th- The Festival of Learning - Frome Community Education host a full day event showcasing the leisure courses on offer. The event included demonstrations delivered by tutors and students. Recorded at The Cheese and Grain.
Sat July 14th- Musical Instruments Made In Frome Exhibition. Laurie Parnell and Chris Barlow talk about instruments that they have made and visitors try out their own sheet music on the fortepiano. Recorded at Holy Trinity Church.
Thurs July 12th- Teatime Treats Hunting Raven and Frome Library bring together authors of books for children with their readers. FromeFM talks to organisers and writers attending the event. Recorded at Frome Library.
Thurs July 12th- Doctor Who – A Voyage In Space and Time with Daniel Blythe. Daniel Blythe, who has written Doctor Who novels, takes us on a history tour of the Time Lord. Recorded at Frome Library.
Weds July 10th – Jhalmuri Indian Music Workshop. Jhalmuri host a workshop about indian music, notably tabla and sitar. Look for more indian music evenings at Jhalmuri Indian Restaurant.
Mon July 9th- Break 3 Singing Sums. St John’s First School presents a maths inspired concert of song developed with Break 3 creative practitioner Steph Douglas. Recorded at Rook Lane Chapel.
Sat July 7th- Flavour Of Somerset : Frome Festival Feast. Barry Harding meets the stallholders selling food and drink at the feast. Recorded in and around The Cheese and Grain.
