July 6th to July 10th – The Festival Breakfast Show. Will Angeloro and Stuart Grant kick off each weekday with music and observational tragedy.
July 7th – The Bad Detectives Festival Special.
July 5th – The Christine Meadows Interview. Christine interviews literary agent Jane Judd hot foot from her Festival workshop
Frome Festival Features
Mongolian Music – Radiant Voyages Radiant Voyages is music inspired by the Altai and Himalaya mountains, combining Mongolian overtone singing, undertone singing, mantra and song. Michael Ormiston and Candida Valentino have sung on Hollywood films, for the RSC and even for The Dalai Lama. This recording was made at The Masonic Hall on Friday July 10th and is broadcast by kind permission of Michael Ormiston and Candida Valentino.
July 7th – Forth Bridge Night. Sir Benjamin Baker delivers extracts from his 1887 lecture, recorded at Rook Lane Chapel – part of the Bridging The World season.
June 26th – Baker and the Birth of Structural Expressionism. A recording of the debate held at Rook Lane Chapel concerning Benjamin Baker’s legacy to engineering – part of the Bridging The World season.
July 10th – The Festival Show. Josie and Nat go to the Mongolian Throat Singing workshop, meetup with Eddie Martin and visit the Black Swan.
July 9th – The Festival Show. On today’s show Josie meets Rob Hopkins (Transition Towns) and talks to the cast of Charley’s Aunt whilst Natalie records a track by The Levellers at The Cheese and Grain.
July 8th – The Festival Show. Josie and Natalie visit the Charity Fashion Show and talk to organisers, models and designers..
July 7th – The Festival Show. Josie and Natalie interview writer Paula Williams, festival music director and conductor Stephen Marquiss and singer Emily Breeze.
July 6th – The Festival Show. Phil and Mags visit the Green Fayre, Piano Migrations, The Artisans Market and The World Food Feast.
July 5th – The Festival Show. Mike Witt interviews local writer John Payne about his new book and we listen to a track by Frome musician Mark Abis.
July 5th – HOME in Frome. Jacqueline Peverley tells us about Robert Golden’s HOME exhibition and why it has particular resonance for Frome. The exhibition runs from July 1st to July 15th at The Silk Mill Gallery.
