January brings a host of new shows on local community radio FromeFM.
On Friday January 28th at 12:00 Farleigh college student Ralph presents a LIVE show “Ralph’s finest hour”. On his first show Ralph talked about his experiences speaking at the House of Commons and at the Conservative Party Conference about Aspergers. Music included Cheryl Cole and West Life. In his new show Ralph will play music and talk about his speech at the National Autistic Society event in Bristol.
On Saturday 29th January at 7pm ‘Boo! Teak’ hosted by Andy Morten promises lost sounds from pop’s golden era, a new and bespoke mix of far-out 60s & 70s sounds and at 8pm ‘Blues Train’ with Dave Watkins is a new monthly round up of the best blues music we can find!
On Sunday 30th Jan at 12:00, ‘Seeing Things’ is a new series about the visual arts in Frome, presented by David Chandler one of Frome’s most well known and established artists. So far David has met up with the Frome Arts Society, visited the ‘Image Wall’ exhibition at the Black Swan and interviewed local artists Tristan Stevens, Ellen Tovey and Kitty Hillier.
Also on Sunday 30th Jan at 4pm playing post-rock, lo-fi, acoustics and electronica, Jon Gordon’s new show provides a showcase for bands whose music may not have been heard either nationally or indeed actually in the UK, so prepare for an entirely new listening experience.
Other new shows to listen out for are ‘Domenic’, ‘Osmosis’, and ‘A perfect world’ as well as lots of your old favourites.
