Frome Town Council is taking part in an Ebike discount scheme. For the month of September, you can hire an ebike for only £5 a day. And we hope to have Helen Iver, who is leading the project, on the programme next week to tell us how it’s going. And for children who love to cycle, Frome Lions and Leos are putting on an event at the Old Showfield on Sunday 8th September. There will be ebikes to try out and the popular smoothie bike. More cycling and less car use is a great way to reduce our carbon footprint and on that theme, Sustainability Frome have a meeting on the 5th September, from 7-9 at the Good Heart Café on Palmer Street. And at the Town Hall on 10th September, at 6.30, there’s a meeting about a scheme for businesses where Green Nation install your solar panels free, in exchange for buying the discounted green electricity.
If you listened to our outside broadcast at the Cornerhouse recently, you’ll know that Lucia Chadwick has moved from Active and In Touch to work with Focus Frome Counselling. It is launching on Friday 6th September from 12-3pm at St Johns Cottage, Frome. Also present will be the mayor, Mark Dorrington, and author and Emeritus professor Brian Thorne.
