Comic Con is coming to FromeFM!

Superheroes, wizards and strange beings invade Frome on August 14th 2016 to fight evil, save the Universe and to read some comics.

FromeFM marks the event with a day of special broadcasts – both live and dusted off from the FromeFM audio crypt.

Schedule for Sunday 14th August. Comic Con related programming in bold.

08:00-09:00 – All Geek 2 Me. A special pre-comic con edition of FromeFM’s geekiest show.

09:00-11:30 – Comic Con for Breakfast. A special morning programme dedicated to all things geek and scifi. Interviews with the Comic Con organisers and some of the local traders.

11:30-12:00 – Frome Talking Newspaper

12:00-13:00 – My Radio Show episodes 1 & 2 is a sound collage blending music and cult spoken word. Episodes 1 and 2 are a Batman story.

13:00-14:00 – Route 96.6

14:00-14:30 – By Bon Jovi’s Beard is a programme dedicated to comics and graphic novels. In this episode Phil, Jan and Rob talk about European comics, Watchmen and classic DC.

14:30-15:00 – Alt Factor Scifi back in time. A trip town memory lane featuring some of the best sci-fi soundtracks from 2013 all the way back to 1927.

15:00-16:00 – Introducing Thunderbirds 1965 – 3 new puppet episodes of Thunderbirds were released in 2016, the first Super Marionation Thunderbirds in 50 years. FromeFM goes behind the scenes at the Thunderbirds studio and talks to the producer and the crew about how they did it.

16:00-16:30 - My Radio Show episode 3 is all about Thunderbirds.

16:30-17:30 – Teatime with Tim

17:30 – 18:00 – Not Just For Muggles features two interviews. The first is with Matthew Graham who created Life On Mars & Ashes to Ashes. He also talks about writing for Doctor Who and for film. The second is an interview with Rupert Holliday Evans, who many will know as Colonel Mace from Doctor Who.

18:00-19:00 – Rambling House

19:00-20:00 – Super Hero Showdown / Marvel vs DC. Another chance to hear the special programme recorded during the Frome College 24/hour takeover.

20:00-21:00 – Whatever gets you through the night
