FromeFM has been shortlisted by Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots giving 2015 award in the South West. If enough votes are secured we would be able to use the money to replace some key equipment in Studio 2 and enable more community groups to come on air and produce radio programmes.

The process is simple, just go to the Skipton Grassroots website, scroll down and type your email address into the box and click ‘Vote now’.

FromeFM is financially sustained by membership fees; a limited amount of sponsorship and occasional grants.

We run two studios (one main broadcast studio and a second smaller studio for pre-recording and editing programmes). Some of the equipment in our primary broadcast studio has become worn out and needs replacing. If successful, we would use the Grassroots Giving grant to replace our main audio playback unit: TASCAM SS-R200 SOLID STATE AUDIO RECORDER. This is a high quality product. Our existing model has served for over 10 years and we would expect the replacement to last many years to come.

The replacement of this piece of equipment would enable us to continue broadcasting to a high standard, benefiting our members and listeners as well as other community groups and individuals we collaborate with.

The potential number of people helped could be well over 5,000. Thank you for your help.
